ECTC 2903 - Future Perspect Early Chldhd

Capstone Course- This course focuses on current trends, issues, and research in the field of early childhood and child development. Students will research and inform fellow students about a current trend, issue, or research. Students will develop a professional portfolio based on the NAEYC Associate Degree Standards, and they will use critical thinking skills as they relate to using the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct. It is recommended that this course be taken the semester that the student will graduate with an AAS degree in Early Childhood.

Pre-Requisite
Completion of CHED 1033, CHED 1201, CHED 1203, and CHED 2033 with a grade greater than or equal to C.

Describe and/or explain developmentally appropriate experiences for children birth through Pre-kindergarten including children with special needs.
Develop a professional portfolio following NAEYC Standards for Associate Degree

Apply the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct to their professional characteristics
Use current research to support developmentally appropriate strategies in the classroom while working with children Birth through Pre-kindergarten, including children with special needs.
Provide evidence of membership in professional organizations related to the early childhood field.
