Learning Outcomes Students completing this course will:
- Demonstrate understanding of materials, media, and the mixing and handling of paint.
- Demonstrate knowledge of perceptual color and color theory.
- Demonstrate understanding of proper studio safety including waste disposal practices.
- Demonstrate an understanding of color and value, and drawing form and space at is it applied in painting.
- Exhibit understanding of developing a painting through the use of layers, formal matters including composition and the principles of design, and mark-making.
- Learn basics of the critique process.
